How to innovate with roughcast?

My propositions are based on matrix, a technique commonly used on flooring. Matrix allows us to create regular relief and patterns on roughcast-like materials.

“Chevron” is a dynamic facade, playing with natural light. Geometric patterns are applied on the surface of the roughcast to create structured lines. Thanks to the structure, the facade evolves with the angle and intensity of the sun.

“Paillette” has a more technical goal : to deviate sunlight in order to bring comfort to outside areas. Using a reflecting filter, angled by the matrix, light can be reflected away during the zenithal hours of the day, and back in the garden when the sun is lower.
